Breakfast with the Big Guy!

Last weekend we went with Bubbe and Zayde to our 2nd annual breakfast with Santa at Indian Ladder Farm. The breakfast is held in the tiny cafe in their gift shop. It is nice a quaint. The difference with this Santa meeting and the mall is Isaac got to go a talk to Santa throughout our meal, by the time we were done eating Isaac and Santa were very buddy-buddy!

Isaac and Santa.

Isaac took this picture of Santa.

Our family with Santa...I think that I am giving Santa a real run for his money in the belly department!

Springerle Cookies

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Poggie made Springerle cookies with Isaac, a Haft family Christmas tradition.

First you have to squash the dough:

Then you roll it out flat:

After the dough is flat, you press it onto a carved wooden board:

Once you think the designs are pressed in well enough, you flip it over, take the board off, and cut the cookies apart:

Then you transfer them to brown paper and lay them on top of anise seeds to dry (or don't lay them on top of anise seeds if you don't like the flavor):

Then you squash the scraps that got cut off and start again:

Happy Hanukkah

Tonight we celebrated the first night of Hanukkah. One night down, seven more nights of fun to go!

Just a quick update from Aunt Laura

I don't have any of the other pictures from Thanksgiving weekend, but here's Isaac in his Dash costume. When I first put the mask on him, he immediately said, "Want it off!" But I asked him if he could just keep it on long enough to show mommy. He said that was OK. Once we showed everyone (including himself in the mirror), I went to take it off, and he said, "No! Want it on!"

More Photo updates...

Isaac has become a super helper with anything that daddy is doing...If Adam is home doing something, Isaac wants to be involve. This means everything take 10x has long. Adam is so patient with Isaac, I love watching them "work" together!

Snow...it isn't even December and we have already had snow. Isaac seemed to enjoy himself, despite being so bundled up he could hardly move.
Back in early October, we headed to Indian Ladder Farms for some apple and pumpkin picking. Assuming Baby #2 cooperates we will be going back to the farm soon to meet up with Santa!!!

Last weekend we headed to downtown Schenectady for the 42nd Annual Holiday Parade. It was alot colder and a lot more crowded than we expected. Isaac's favorite part...sitting on Daddy's sholders!!!

With lots of big events in the upcoming future, I want to make sure I document everything that has happened the past few months...more to come(hopefully tomorrow).

For Halloween Isaac was a frog. We went trick or treating in Adam's parents neighborhood with a few other children about Isaac's age. He loved carrying a bag. After each house he would immediately say, "again, again." Adam and I thought he would make it a few houses, we underestimated our son the energizer bunny...or froggie in this case.

I late September we traveled to Orlando to celebrate Lila's first birthday. Isaac always enjoys spending time with his cousin.

Since we were in Orlando, we did spend so time on Disney Property of course. Adam, Isaac, Lila and Poggie enjoying Disney transportation!!!

Isaac and Michael...these two sure do look related in this photo!

Isaac REALLY enjoys spending time in the parks, he is very lucky to have been some many times so far. Thanks Elyse for getting us in to the parks for the day!!!

Isaac and I spent the last week in Virginia. Grandma and Poggie were headed to California to particitpate in the Disneyland 5K and 1/2 marathon. While they were away, we visited with GG and Pop Pop, spent time with Aunt Laura and took care of Grandma's daycare crew.

Isaac's "CHEESE" face, waiting to take off on our way to Virginia.

Playing with GG and Pop Pop's abacus.

Eating corn on the cob like a big boy.

Isaac's new favorite game...ladder golf. For a one year old...he is pretty good.

Waiting at BWI for our plane to board. Isaac was very interested in the Southwest crew loading luggage.
